Kupio’s UFO sighting in Finland

UFOs in Scandinavia? Of course yes !

UFO sightings in Finland have been relatively common in recent years, with reports peaking in the summer of 2020.

In July of that year, several people reported seeing an unidentified flying object over the Helsinki sky. The object, described as a luminous yellow-green disc, was also spotted by some aircraft pilots who reportedly avoided it during the flight. Despite the investigations being launched by the Finnish authorities, the origin of the object could not be determined.

Even in 2019, there were several reports of UFOs being sighted in different parts of the country. For example, in August, a man claimed to have seen a flying saucer over the city of Oulu, describing the object as flashing red, green and blue lights. Again, the origin of the object could not be determined.

UFO sightings are not a new phenomenon in Finland. In the 1970s and 1980s, there were numerous reports of unidentified flying objects over the Finnish sky, although the number of reports decreased in the following years.

Despite efforts by Finnish authorities to investigate UFO sightings, most of them remain unexplained. There are some who argue that UFOs could be extraterrestrial spacecraft, while others believe they are natural phenomena or secret military projects.

There are several organizations and research groups studying UFO sightings in this country and trying to find evidence to support their theories.

One of the most famous sightings in Finland occurred in December 2010, when thousands of people reported seeing a bright object flying across the sky. Many have described the object as a “giant shooting star” and there have been several theories about its origin, from a meteorite to a military missile. However, many still believe it was a UFO.

One of the most talked about sightings was the one filmed near the city of Kupio, in May 2016 when the US and Finnish air forces held a joint air show at Rissala airport

The video of the sighting, which has been circulated widely on social media, shows an unidentified saucer-shaped flying object flying in the sky alongside a Finnish Air Force F18 HORNET fighter. The object was observed for several minutes by several witnesses and the video was considered very convincing by many UFO experts and enthusiasts.

Although there have been many attempts to explain the sighting as a natural phenomenon or an optical illusion, many still believe that it is an alien visitation and unidentified flying objects. A representative of Rissala airport, which we remember is a military base, released a statement saying he was unaware of any unauthorized flights in the area at the time of the sighting.

However, there is no solid evidence to support any of these theories, and until more evidence is provided, UFO sightings in Finland will remain shrouded in mystery.

Whatever the case, UFO sightings continue to fascinate people all over the world and Finland is no exception. Even if there are no definitive answers on the origin of these flying objects, their presence continues to generate questions and pique people’s curiosity.
