Who was Yahweh, the god of the Bible.

Those who have read the Bible and specifically the Old Testament will surely have realized that the god of the Roman Catholic Church, the god worshipped by two billion Christians, the loving, merciful, ethereal, all-knowing omnipresent god and I could go on with the adjectives still long, and actually a flesh and blood humanoid called Yahweh. A leader, and he is not as omniscient and ethereal as one believes, but he is quite physical and also defines himself as the lord of armies.

Already at the beginning of Genesis, the Bible tells us that he walks in the Garden of Eden Genesis 3.8. He is not the only humanoid with a physical body, because even his malakim, that is to say, those who are considered angels by definition.

In many steps we find them tired, fatigued and hungry, nothing supernatural… when they go down Abraham’s nephew Lot in Genesis 19 to announce the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, we perceive all their physicality. These famous angels are endowed with incredibly immense powers, nothing comparable with the modest military resources on earth, I am reminded in this regard of the angel sent against the Assyrian King Sennacherib in 2 Kings 19.31 35 who in the blink of an eye exterminated 185000 men.

We come, however, to God Yahweh, the least reassuring of all, a ruthless, bloodthirsty, vengeful, vindictive, rancorous, dictator, angry, and all who have more. In this regard I report only a small part of evidence because 95% of Christians have never read the sacred text and are aware of what kind of evil their god was capable of.

NUMBERS 11.1

Now the people began to complain badly in the ears of the Lord. The Lord heard them and his indignation was kindled, and the fire of the Lord burned in their midst and devoured the end of the camp.

NUMBERS 15.32

While the Israelites were in the wilderness, they found a man collecting wood on the Sabbath day.

33 And those who had found him collecting wood, they led him to Moses, and to Aaron, and to the whole congregation.

34 They put him under surveillance, because it had not yet been determined what was to be done to him.

35 The Lord said to Moses, The man must be put to death; the whole congregation will stone him outside the camp.

NUMBERS 16 35

A fire came out of the Lord’s presence and devoured the two hundred and fifty men offering incense.

NUMBERS 31

The Lord said to Moses: 2 “Take the revenge of the Israelites against the Midianites, then you will be reunited with your ancestors. 3 Moses said to the people, “Mobilize among yourselves men for war, and let them march against Midian to carry out the Lord’s vengeance upon Midian. 4 You will send a thousand men to war by tribes of all the tribes of Israel. 5 Thus were provided by the thousands of Israel a thousand men by tribe, that is, twelve thousand men armed for war. 6 Moses sent those a thousand men by tribe to war, and with them Pincas the son of Eleazar the priest, who carried the holy things, and had in his hand the trumpets of acclamation. 7 So they marched against Midian, as the Lord had commanded Moses, and slew all the males. 8 They also slew the kings of Midian Evi, Rekem, Sur, Ur, and Reba, that is, five kings of Midian, besides their fallen, and they also slew Balaam the son of Beor with the sword. 9 And the children of Midian took the women of Midian and their children captive, and plundered all their cattle, and all their flocks, and all their goods: 10 And they set fire to all the cities which they dwelt in, and to all their expectation 11 And they took all their spoils, and all their prey, people and cattle. 12 And they brought the captives, and the spoils, and the spoils, and the spoils, unto Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and to the congregation of the children of Israel, camped in the steppes of Moab by Jordan before Jericho.

13 Moses, the priest Eleazar, and all the princes of the congregation went out to meet them outside the camp. 14 Moses was angry against the commanders of the army, chief of thousands and chief of hundreds, who were returning from that war expedition. 15 Moses said to them, “Have you left all the females alive? 16 They themselves, at the suggestion of Balaam, taught the Israelites infidelity to the Lord in the matter of Peor, for which came the scourge in the congregation of the Lord. 17 Now kill every male among the children, and kill every woman that is joined with a man; 18 But all the maidens that are not joined with men, keep them alive for you.

NUMBERS 21.3

The Lord heard the voice of Israel and put the Canaanites into his hands; Israel vowed to exterminate the Canaanites and their cities, and that place was called Corm.

NUMBERS 21.6

Then the Lord sent poisonous snakes among the people, which bit the people, and a great number of Israelites died.

NUMBERS 25.6

6And behold, one of the Israelites came and brought a Midianite woman unto his brethren, before the eyes of Moses and all the congregation of the Israelites, while they were weeping at the entrance of the tent of the congregation.

7 Seeing this, Pincas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, rose up in the midst of the congregation, and took a spear in his hand,

8 He followed that man of Israel into the tent and pierced them both, the man of Israel and the woman, into the lower abdomen. And the scourge ceased among the Israelites.

9 Twenty-four thousand died of that scourge.

NUMBERS 31.17

Now kill every male among the children, and kill every woman that is joined with a man;

18 But all the maidens that are not joined with men, keep them alive for you.

LEVITICAL 10.11

Now Nadab and Abihu, Aaron’s sons, took each one a brazier, and put fire and perfume in it, and offered before the Lord an illegitimate fire, which the Lord had not commanded them.

2 But a fire broke away from the Lord and devoured them, and they died so before the Lord.

DEUTERONOMY 13.6

As for that prophet or that dreamer, he must be put to death, because he proposed apostasy from the Lord, from your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you from servile condition, to drag you out of the way by which the Lord your God commanded you to walk. Thus you will eradicate evil from yourself.

[7]If your brother, the son of your father or the son of your mother, or the son or the daughter or the wife resting on your breast or the friend who is like yourself, instigate you in secret, saying: Come on, let us serve other gods, gods whom neither you nor your fathers have known, [8]gods of the people around you, near you or from you far from one end of the earth to the other, [9]do not listen to him, do not listen to him; your eye will not mourn him; do not spare him, do not cover his guilt. [10]You must kill him: let your hand be the first against him to put him to death; then the hand of all the people; [11]stone him and let him die, for he has tried to drag you away from the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the servile condition. [12]All Israel shall know it, and shall fear it, and shall not commit such a wicked deed among you.

DEUTERONOMY 17.2

If there is a man or woman in the midst of you, in one of the cities that the Lord your God is about to give you, who does evil in the eyes of the Lord your God, transgressing his covenant, [3]and who goes and serves other gods, and prostrates himself before them, before the sun or the moon, or before the whole army of heaven, against my command, [4]when this is reported to you or you have heard of it, diligently inform them; If it be true, if it be true, if it be true, if such an abomination be committed in Israel, [5] Then thou shalt bring to the gates of thy city that man or woman that hath committed that evil deed, and shalt stone that man or woman to death. [6] He who shall die shall be put to death on the testimony of two or three witnesses; he shall not be put to death on the testimony of one witness. [7]The hand of the witnesses will be the first against him to make him die; then the hand of all the people; thus you will eradicate the evil in your midst.

DEUTERONOMY 20

When you approach a city to attack it, you will first offer it peace. 11 If you accept peace and open its doors to you, all the people who will be there will be tributary to you and will serve you. 12 But if it will not make peace with you, and will want war, then you will besiege it. 13 When the Lord thy God has given it into thy hand, thou shalt smite all the males with the edge of the sword; 14 But the women, and the children, and the cattle, and all that is in the city, and all his spoils, thou shalt take them as thy prey; thou shalt eat the spoils of thy enemies, which the Lord thy God hath given thee.

EXODUS 32.26

Lord, come to me!” All the children of Levi gathered around him. [27]He shouted to them: “Says the Lord, the God of Israel: Each of you keep your sword at your side. Pass through the camp from one door to another, and pass through the camp again: kill each one his brother, each one his friend, each one his relative.

[28]The sons of Levi acted according to the command of Moses, and on that day about three thousand men of the people perished.

Psalms 137.9

Blessed is he who grabs your children and throws them against the rock!

Deuteronomy; But if you do not obey the voice of the Lord, your God, if you do not try to carry out all his commands and all his laws that I prescribe you today, they will come upon you and will strike you all these curses:

16 you will be cursed in the city and cursed in the countryside.

17 Cursed will be your basket and your cupboard.

18 Cursed will be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your soil, both the parts of your cows and the births of your sheep.

19 Cursed you will be when you come in and cursed when you go out.

20 The Lord will hurl a curse, consternation, and threat upon you in every work you set your hand on, until you are destroyed and perish swiftly because of your wicked deeds, for abandoning me.

21 The Lord will attack you with the plague until it has eliminated you from the land you are about to enter to take possession of it.

22 The Lord will strike you with wear, with fever, with inflammation, with heat, with drought, with carbuncle and with rust, which will persecute you until you perish.

23 The sky will be bronze above your head, and the earth below you will be iron.

 24 The Lord will give your land sand and dust as rain, which will come down on you from heaven until you are destroyed.

 25 The Lord will make your enemies defeat you: you will go against them in one way, and you will flee from them in seven ways. You will become an object of horror for all kingdoms on earth.

26 Your corpse will become food for all the birds of the sky and the animals of the earth, and no one will chase them away.

27 The Lord will strike you with the ulcers of Egypt, with buboes, scabs and itches, from which you will not be able to heal.

 28 The Lord will strike you with delirium, blindness and madness,

 29 So that you will go groping in broad daylight as the blind gropes in the dark. You will not succeed in your exploits, you will be oppressed and stripped every day and no one will help you.

 30You will be engaged to a woman and another will possess her. You will build a house, but you will not live in it. You will plant a vineyard and you will not be able to reap the first fruits.

31Your ox will be killed before your eyes, and you will not eat it. Your donkey will be taken away from you in your presence and will never come back to you. Your flock will be given to your enemies and no one will help you.

32 Your sons and your daughters will be handed over to a foreign people, while your eyes will see and will languish with weeping for them every day, but your hand will be able to do nothing. 33 A people you do not know will eat the fruit of your soil and all your toil. You will be oppressed and crushed every day.

34 You will go crazy for what your eyes will have to see.

 35 The Lord will strike you in the knees and thighs with a malignant ulcer, from which you will not be able to heal. It will hit you from the soles of your feet to the top of your head.

36 The Lord will deport you and the king, whom you will have appointed, to a nation that neither you nor your fathers have known. There you will serve foreign gods, gods of wood and stone.

 37 You will become an object of amazement, mockery and ridicule to all the peoples to whom the Lord has led you.

38 You will bring much seed to the field and gather little, for the locust will devour it. 39 You will plant vineyards and cultivate them, but you will not drink wine or gather grapes, for the worm will gnaw them.

 40 You will have olive groves all over your land, but you will not anoint yourself with oil, because your olives will fall off immature.

 41 You will father sons and daughters, but they will not be yours, because they will go into captivity.

 42 All your trees and the fruit of your soil will be prey to an army of insects.

 43 The stranger who is in your midst will rise higher and higher than you, and you will descend lower and lower.

44 He will lend to you and you will not lend to him. He will be in the lead and you in the queue.

45 All these curses will come upon you, persecute you and overtake you, until you are destroyed, because you have not obeyed the voice of the Lord your God, by keeping the commands and laws which he has given you.

46 They will always be a sign and a wonder to you and your descendants

One last gem:

Leviticus 21: 18-20 The Lord said again to Moses: 17 “Speak to Aaron and tell him: In future generations no man of your lineage, who has any deformity, will be able to come near to offer the bread of his God; 18 because no man who has any deformity will be able to approach: neither the blind nor the lame, nor those who have a deformed face by defect or excess, 19 nor those who have a broken foot or hand, 20 nor a hunchback, nor a dwarf, nor who has a spot in the eye or scabies or purulent sores or is a eunuch. 21 No man of the lineage of the priest Aaron, with any deformity, will approach to offer the sacrifices consumed by the fire in honor of the Lord. He has a flaw: therefore, do not come near to offer the bread of his God. 22 He will be able to eat the bread of his God, the sacred things and the holy things; 23 but he will not be able to go near the veil, nor go near the altar, because he has a deformity. He will not have to profane my holy places, because I am the Lord who sanctifies them ».
