The surprising UFO sighting of a famous navigator.
A UFO in the middle of the sea in 1492?
The UFO phenomenon has always been part of the evolutionary path of mankind.
Millions of testimonies originate and have come from every corner of the planet over time.

The first account is, that of September 15, 1492, and states:

Was the “fiery glow” referred to in the diary of Christopher Columbus to be attributed to a meteorite or to a USO? (Unidentified Submerged Object), a trans-medium? that in recent years have come to prominence in the reports of the United States of America navy?
The second report is dated 11 October of the same year, before the sighting of the mainland:
“After sunset, we sailed west at twelve miles an hour until two in the morning and covered 90 miles, which is twenty-two and a half leagues.”
“Since the Pinta was the best vessel, the admiral had instructed the crew to precede the fleet in order to find land and report the sighting.
The land was first sighted by a sailor named Rodrigo de Triana. at ten o’clock in the evening; since the sailor was in the stern castle, he had seen the fire that was thought to come from the mainland and after calling Pedro Gutierrez, the king’s pastry chef, he reported that it looked like a purple light “. While for some sailors this bright pink flame was attributable to a fire on earth.
J.J Benitez, a Spanish writer-journalist known for his interest in UFOs, investigated these exciting papers.
According to the research of Manuel Audije (former naval officer) when the crew saw the strange light they were 14.5 leagues away, about 80 km, so it would have been impossible to confuse the light with something bright on the ground.
Conclusions:
It is not possible to be sure that Columbus and his crew may have seen an extraterrestrial vehicle, it remains a bizarre story undoubtedly, we do not exclude an astronomical phenomenon of course.
