If we read the Exodus of the Bible with an open mind, it is easy to be attracted to some excerpts that make you think. The description of modern flying saucers seems to emerge.
Even today lenticular clouds appear, the internet is full of bizarre images of certain clouds but here the narrator tells of something that moves on command, and also of lightning and lightning typical of modern sightings are the frame.
What about the “glory” of the Lord? is it a spaceship that is hidden inside the cloud? and finally in Exodus 33.18 the phrase “my glory will pass”. Seems to be moving … but let’s read
19] The angel of God, who preceded the camp of Israel, changed his place and went back. The column of cloud also moved and from the front it passed backwards. He thus came to be between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel.
]Moses said to Aaron: “Give this command to the whole community of the Israelites: Approach the presence of the Lord, for he has heard your murmurs! Now while Aaron was speaking to the whole community of the Israelites, they turned to the desert: and behold, the Glory of the Lord appeared in the cloud.
Just on the third day, in the morning, there was thunder, lightning, a dense cloud on the mountain and a very loud trumpet sound: all the people who were in the camp were shaken by tremors.
So the Lord came down to Mount Sinai on the top of the mountain, and the Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain. Moses went up.
Then the Lord said to Moses: “Come down, and beseech the people not to break into the Lord to see, or else a multitude will fall! The priests, who approach the Lord, must also keep themselves in a state of purity, or else the Lord will come upon them!”.
Moses said to the Lord: “The people cannot go up to Mount Sinai, because you yourself warned us by saying: Set a limit to the mountain and declare it sacred.
Moses went up the mountain and the cloud covered the mountain.
The Glory of the Lord came to dwell on Mount Sinai and the cloud covered it for six days. On the seventh day the Lord called Moses from the cloud.
The Glory of the Lord appeared to the eyes of the Israelites as devouring fire on the top of the mountain. So Moses went into the middle of the cloud and went up the mountain. Moses remained on the mountain for forty days and forty nights.
18]He said to him: “Show me your Glory!”.
He answered: “I will let all my glory pass before you and proclaim my name: Lord, before you. I will give grace to whom I will give grace and have mercy to whom I will have mercy”. He said: “But you will not be able to see my face, because no man can see me and stay alive”. The Lord added: “Here is a place near me. You will stand over the cliff: When my Glory passes, I will place you in the hollow of the cliff and cover you with my hand until I pass. Then I will remove my hand and you will see my shoulders, but you cannot see my face.
When Moses entered the tent, the cloud column came down and stood at the entrance of the tent. Then the Lord spoke to Moses. All the people saw the pillar of cloud, which stood at the entrance of the tent, and all stood up and prostrated themselves each at the entrance of their tent
34]Then the cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the Glory of the Lord filled the Abode. Moses could not enter the tabernacle of the congregation, because the cloud dwelt upon it, and the Glory of the Lord filled the Abode.
At each stage, when the cloud rose up and left the Abode, the Israelites raised up the camp. If the cloud did not rise, they would not leave until it had risen. For the cloud of the Lord remained on the Abode during the day, and during the night there was a fire in it, visible to all the house of Israel, for the whole time of their journey.
