The classification Hynek, the subdivisions:

How are the encounters with UFOs and occupants identifiable

1) Night lights, or light sources at night views in the sky, whose trajectory is not attributable to either aircraft, nor to weather balloons, nor meteors, nor to artificial satellites and which often give the impression of an intelligent behavior.

2) Diurnal Objects or bodies of metallic appearance, predominantly circular in shape, color mostly silver, capable of performance that appear to violate known physical laws: supersonic speeds without production of the characteristic “bang”, sudden stops, stationing in the air , lightning acceleration turns at a right angle with no apparent slowdown, peculiar motions such as swings, rotations, loss of altitude to “dead leaf”.

3) Radar-visual, or appearances on the radar screen of well-defined targets, not related to malfunctions radar nor to atmospheric phenomena, with contemporary visual perception, in the same point in the sky explored by radar, lights or unusual objects of the type described in the two previous categories.

The “close” observations are made less than two hundred meters away. They are the matter of interest offered by UFO statistics, because the proximity allows the witness to perceive the phenomenon in on the details and makes it much less plausible than a misunderstanding with a conventional Hynek event distinguishes three different types of ” close encounter “:

First type: unusual object observation, bright, generally circular structure, sometimes provided with” tower “or” dome “, silent, or more rarely, emitting a sound like a buzz or a hissing sound, capable of stationed in the air, to land, take off with very strong acceleration. The observation is not accompanied by the phenomena of interaction between the object and the surrounding environment or the witnesses. Second type: the paradigm is the same as that of the first type, but with a demonstration of side effects of interaction with the environment and / or people. The most common of these effects are:

a) Traces on the ground, in the form of circular areas of burnt grass or bent into a vortex, or of holes of various diameters and depths arranged according to geometric patterns (triangles, squares, c …). And ‘famous track remained in Trans-en-Provence (France) in 1981 following a landing unidentified. Accurate chemical and biological analysis of soil samples taken from the track and grass by the GEPAN, the French official commission of inquiry about UFOs, now renamed SEPRA, it was established that in place there has been a “phenomenon of great energy power “and of unknown nature.

b) Electromagnetic effects, in the form of radio interference, televisions, compasses, electrical circuits of automobiles.

c) Unusual lighting effects, such as the issuance and the slow resorption of light or light beams, eg. If Polcanto (Florence): the witness, a settler forties, claimed to have witnessed, three in the morning, the issue by a UFO with a light that was advancing slowly toward him lighting up gradually in the days surrounding area, and then he drew back just as slowly until it is absorbed completely.

d) Effects on animals, in the form of fear, anxiety, irritation, (in the case of Polcanto, the witness of the dog remained apathetic and afraid during and after the sighting, and for several days refused food normally instead the dog was very lively and aggressive.

e) Effects on humans, in the form of temporary paralysis, choking, burns, various physical ailments such as eye irritation, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness and others.

Third type: The “Close Encounters of the Third Kind“, made popular by a known Steven Spielberg movies, relate to objects and phenomena analogous to those of the previous two categories, but with simultaneous observation of alleged “occupants” .

These latter are described for the more like animated humanoid appearance entities, of short stature (tall little more than a meter), with the skull exceptionally developed and the ambiguous behavior (depending on the case, escape, aggressiveness, indifference, friendliness … etc.).

It should be noted that the 6 categories of sightings identified by Hynek does not imply the existence of various generating causes. The working hypothesis is that the origin of all UFO reports, whatever their assigned category, there is a same unknown phenomenon that appears in a different way according to different observation situations: namely, that depending on the sighting occurs by night and by day, to the naked eye or by instruments, to a greater or lesser distance.

The classification Hynek has provided scholars with a valuable research tool: on the one hand, allows you to easily, in the plethora of reports, those peculiarly UFO, and the other provides a basis for formulating hypotheses. Extending the classification Hynek *

Fourth type: more recently, it has been suggested to make use of the expression “close encounters of the fourth kind” to define the cases of “abduction” or kidnapping indicating cases of alleged abduction of witnesses by the occupants of UFOs. *

Fifth type: either “outbreeding” I mean literally, biological union with extraterrestrial beings; the term refers to the alleged cases, to that of Villas Boas on, involving alleged sexual relations between humans and “UFO” occupants. ** Sixth kind: death of the person involved in the meeting as a result of the meeting itself. ** Seventh type: indicates the consequences of a mental level beyond the esperite matter in some cases by the protagonists of close encounters of the fourth kind. from that of Villas Boas on, involving alleged sexual relations between humans and “UFO” occupants. **
